Scientific activities

Materials engineer, microscopist and doctor in physico-chemistry of polymers, I specialized in the study of the processing-structure-property relationships of multiphase polymer materials by local morphological, nanomechanical and chemical analyses.

Cellulose can be converted into nanocrystals and nanofibers and their high specific surface area and tunable surface chemistry make these materials excellent candidates for the design of high-performance polymer nanocomposites and functional all-cellulose materials.

As a member of the « Structure and Properties of Glycomaterials » (SPG) team, my main interest is in the surface functionalization of nanocellulose materials and their interfaces with polymer matrices for a variety of applications, including proton-exchange membranes.

My present research projects are centered on two complementary strategies to bring cellulose fibrils into the world of hydrogen fuel cells, via the rational design and production of cheap and durable green membranes.
